Repent NZ

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, and the sword come, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand. (Ezekiel 33:6)

Repent NZ

A network of Christians working to turn New Zealand back to obedience to the God of Nations

Repent NZ is a response to how the churches of New Zealand have cooperated with state tyranny. They have failed to be watchful, to stand firm in the faith, to act like men, to be strong (1 Cor 16:13). Instead they have abandoned the post that God assigned them. May the Lord rebuke them (1 Tim 5:1; Jd 9). We are convicted that, as individuals, we must repent of our own involvement in this sin by taking up their duty. We want to muster like-minded believers, and to—

  • Instruct them, so they can grasp and articulate the grievous compromise of their churches, and plead for reform;
  • Encourage them, so they can come out from churches who will not hear their pleas;
  • Equip them, so they can find uncompromised churches, or combine their strength in building new ones upon the rock of both hearing and doing Christ’s word (Mt 7:24).

Our ministry is a work of repentance, for our own part in the blindness, cowardice, and weakness of our churches. We invite all Christians of like mind to join us. Start by reading our challenge statements, and signing your name to them if you agree.

Statement of faith

Repent NZ affirms the historic core doctrines of Christianity:

  1. We believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God, our only ultimate and infallible authority, sufficient to fully equip us with wisdom for salvation and godly living.

  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is limited by nothing other than his own nature and character, which is holy, righteous, good, severe, loving and merciful. He made everything that has been made in six days, all very good, and foreordains whatever comes to pass, preserving and governing all his creatures and all their actions.

  3. We believe in the true deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in his virgin birth; in his sinless life; in his miracles; in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood; in his bodily resurrection for our justification; in his ascension to the right hand of the Father from where he now reigns over every created thing; and in his personal future return in power and glory.

  4. We believe in the full deity of the Holy Spirit, acknowledging him together with the Father and the Son in the works of creation and redemption; and in his present ministry indwelling Christians, enabling them to know God, understand his will, and live in accordance with it.

  5. We believe that because of Adam’s sin, all mankind is in rebellion against God; the only remedy for this rebellion is regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and the only way to escape judgment is to receive the covering of Christ’s righteousness. Salvation is therefore by grace alone, through faith alone, and our works can add nothing to our standing before God; yet a faith that saves does work through love by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to the resurrection of life, and the lost to the resurrection of damnation.

  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers as sons of God the Father, in our Lord Jesus Christ, through his Holy Spirit.
